We took the road more traveled and got on 101 (instead of US 1/Big Sur Hwy) to avoid the fires and road closures on the coast near Pfeiffer. It does stink to miss about 50 miles of the beautiful ~90 mile drive, but there's nothing we can do about it.
For those following on the map, we'll emerge at Limekiln park and then work our way down US 1 from there.
It all began when Orion and Rafael wanted to have an epic road trip before starting grad school. The two decided to invite Elizabeth and the three friends, henceforth known as we, began discussing the trip...
...after some planning, we decided to start in late May and go across the US, into Canada, and down the west coast. Little did we know that we'd end up adding a whole section of the U.S. to our trip.
After the trip, Orion is off to Stanford for his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Rafael is going to Harvard Business School for his M.B.A., and Elizabeth is going to University of Iowa Law School for her J.D.
