Waterton Lakes: Transcendence (under construction)

We made our way into Waterton Lakes after a chilly night in Glacier National Park. We went on a recommendation from Johnny and Leo, after hearing about their transcendent experience at Waterton Lakes when they were young lads (for more you'll have to ask them to tell you the story).

The bad news was that the hotel and restaurant were under construction, so our plans to have a cup of coffee while having our own transcendental experience were thwarted. Nonetheless the trip was worth it, as you can tell just from the view in the posted picture.

After Waterton Lakes, we made a pit stop in Calgary (since it wasn't too far out of the way going towards Banff). Perhaps the weather made a difference, but Calgary was just ok as a city. We did see one of the biggest indoor gardens called Devonian Gardens, but even that was a bit of a letdown. Oh well, live and learn.

On to Banff!
